Ribbon cutting for Steven Dorfman Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The School of Management celebrated the most significant event of the Fall semester - the official dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for our Steven Dorfman Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. More than 120 guests participated in person and via livestream and were inspired by keynote addresses by President Varlotta, Mr. Steve Dorfman, Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship Mike Panesis, and our special guest Laura Lucas Moreno, who is also a member of the Center's advisory council. Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Dorfman, we will be able to award two generous scholarships each year (the first two recipients, Elsa Klubberud and Elaine Vo were in attendance), we have created an endowed professor position, we'll fund activities at Hub101, and we will soon be launching a grant program for early stage startup companies.

The event was also attended by many past Hub101 members and School of Management alumni-entrepreneurs, and was supported by the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, represented by Heather Macaulay. Full-time students have free access to the coworking space at Hub101 to study, work, or collaborate and are able to take advantage of all the networking events the space hosts on a regular basis. The community can engage through events, co-working and networking.
