Instruction Support
Pearson Library approaches instruction and research from a pedagogical framework developed by the Association of College and Reseach Libraries (ACRL). Our goal is to support student learning in alignment with Cal Lutheran's mission and Student Learning Outcomes (SLO).
Available Services
Librarians at Pearson Library maintain customized learning and research guides on a variety of academic disciplines and reference topics for the Cal Lutheran community. These guides are an ongoing, evolving resource and the library staff welcome input from the faculty and subject experts in these areas. If you have a suggestion for a new guide or content you'd like added to an existing guide, please reach out to CLUlibrary@CalLutheran.edu.
The library can be a powerful resource during the Academic Program Review process by outlining the resources and services available to each specific discipline. Faculty are encouraged to review library reports in the Data Repository (from EEIR) and reach out to CLUlibrary@CalLutheran.edu for further information.
Librarians can lead presentations and activities developing students' research methods and literacy skills. These visits often align with a specific course assignment or project, and faculty involvement in identifying learning objectives is very helpful. Class visits are currently by request and based on availability, so please contact Yvonne Wilber, Ph.D., to discuss this option.
