Public Relations Student Society of America
The Cal Lutheran Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a student-led organization devoted to helping students connect with other public relations and communications students and professionals. Through PRSSA, students take tours of local businesses and network with communications professionals in the community. The Cal Lutheran chapter of PRSSA has visited Patagonia Headquarters, the Staples Center, Edelman, the Los Angeles Rams’ Training Facility, a local PR firm, and Amazon Studios. All trips and visits are exclusive to members. PRSSA also provides students with the opportunity to participate in state and national PR competitions and conventions. In these, students gain invaluable experience to build their portfolio and compete to earn recognition and cash awards for their chapter.
PRSSA is the largest, most respected and widely recognized organization for pre-professional students interested in PR. Founded in 1968 by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the student society boasts more than 10,000 members in 300+ universities across the country. Students in PRSSA also have the opportunity to compete for scholarships.
PRSSA membership dues are $60 per calendar year, and are due October 23rd and April 23rd every year. The link to apply will be made live at the beginning of every new semester. Dues go towards students enhancing their education, broadening their networks, gaining scholarship opportunities, expanding their resumes and portfolios, building leadership skills and ultimately launching their careers.
