Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong & Beginning Tai Chi Classes with Jim Belsley
Fridays, June 28, July 12, 19, August 2, 9, 16 in Swenson 101
Level One: 9:45-10:45am (Limited Spots Available) | Level Two: 11am-12pm
Level One: Tai Chi and Qigong are two forms of exercise recommended by the Harvard Medical School. In this introductory course, we'll use gentle, flowing movements to develop balance, flexibility and strength while learning techniques to release stress and cultivate more energy. Develop and embody mindfulness using posture, movement, and breathing techniques from these beautiful arts. Those new to Tai Chi should begin with this level one class only.
The Summer six-week class will be cumulative, building upon the skills learned the previous week in each class. Cost for the class is $48.
Level Two: Learn basic Tai Chi movements, steps, and stances and then put them into a Tai Chi short form to develop balance and coordination. With practice of Tai Chi principles, you can increase your strength, flexibility, and mental focus. Supplemental Qigong exercises will also be learned. It is recommended that those new to Tai Chi take Level One first. Returning students can take both level one and two together if desired.
The Summer six-week class will be cumulative, building upon the skills learned the previous week in each class. Cost for the class is $48. Returning students can bundle both classes for $90.
Spaces are limited. Classes will take in-person at Cal Lutheran's Thousand Oaks campus. Liability waiver must be signed in advance (instructions will be sent in the weeks leading up to the first class).

Join Fifty and Better for special FAB Nights at the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival's 27th season shows. We will be at "Much Ado About Nothing" on Sunday, June 30 and "Romeo and Juliet" on Sunday, July 21. Adult tickets for both shows is just $18, and children under 18 are free! Family and friends are welcome to join. FAB will provide free snacks for both shows. Arrive early to picnic in the park and enjoy pre-show entertainment.
