Apply to Graduate
Your first responsibility in the graduation process is to confirm that you have completed
or will complete all of your degree requirements by monitoring your progress in MyCLU.
Then, you must submit your degree application and fee, which informs Cal Lutheran of your intent to graduate in the semester or term that you will
complete all degree requirements.
How to Apply to Graduate
Please note that if you are in a credential program, you do not need to submit a Degree Application.
- Login to MyCLU and click on Student Planning under Self-Service.
- Review the information in My Progress to see your remaining degree requirements. Keep checking back continually until there are no remaining requirements listed.
- Choose Graduation Overview and select your Program of Study (confirm that your major and degree are accurate; if you are earning a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts, you will need to submit an application for both programs).
- Select your Expected Graduation Term (the term/semester when you will complete your final degree requirements).
- Verify the accuracy of your Diploma Name and Diploma Mailing Address and make any necessary edits (you may request an official address change at any time).
- Click the button to Submit Your Application.
- Check your Cal Lutheran email account for next steps, including instructions for paying your graduation fee.
- Allow up to 24 hours for your application to be available for payment in the graduation fee payment portal, to ensure that the correct fee is shown.

Additional Guidelines
- All degree programs have a total credit requirement, GPA requirement and course requirement. It is important that you fulfill each of these areas.
- In addition to the requirements listed in your program evaluation, all degrees must fulfill the basic graduation requirements in their catalog year. Go to the academic catalog to review graduation requirements for your degree level.
- All Incomplete and In-Progress grades from previous terms need to have an appropriate letter grade. If this applies to you, check with the instructor of the course to submit a grade change. View your grades
- If you have taken courses that need to be substituted for a required degree course, you should work with your Academic Adviser or Program Director to submit the required substitution form.
- Doctoral and Master's degree students must complete requirements with a seven-year period.
- Traditional undergraduate students must refer to the Senior Degree Audit in conjunction with these guidelines.
- Submission of an application does not confirm eligibility for graduation. All students submitting a degree application will have their eligibility for graduation verified to confirm completion of all degree requirements.
- If you change your major or specialization/emphasis after you apply, you may need to re-submit your application.
- If you have already submitted your Degree Application and need to update your information,
fill out this Graduation Application Update Request Form
