Interfaith Service of Blessing for Graduates

Interfaith Service of Blessing for Graduates is a pre-Commencement interfaith ceremony to celebrate Cal Lutheran graduates and their accomplishments. All graduating students, family, and friends are invited to celebrate this milestone!

Interfaith Service of Blessing for Graduates honors the faith traditions and cultural heritage that gave strength and support to students during their academic journey.

This traditional ceremony at Cal Lutheran celebrates students of all faiths, all cultural backgrounds, and all academic programs. A celebration full of joy to share with family and loved ones.

Location: Samuelson Chapel

A brief reception will immediately follow on the Samuelson Chapel patio.

What to expect in Interfaith Service of Blessing for Graduates Ceremony?
  •  Graduating students are invited to wear regalia (also known as cap or gown) and gather at the Gumby statue at 4:15 pm to participate in a procession
  •  Family and loved ones arrive at the chapel at 4:30 pm or before
  •  Enjoy the ceremony we have prepared for you from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. Students and faith leaders from different traditions will share reflections
  •  A brief reception will follow the ceremony with music and refreshments at the Chapel patio.
