President's Message
The CLA is an organization that supports California Lutheran University and its students and faculty, by providing financial support and encouraging community involvement. Our board members are enthusiastic and passionate about assisting students and faculty while working closely with community leaders to foster relationships between California Lutheran University and the surrounding communities.
We are proud to support and be a part of the University as it continues to grow and excel well beyond its main campus in Thousand Oaks. Our board members are outstanding ambassadors for California Lutheran University, and I would like to personally thank them for their service to the community, the University, and its faculty and students. One of our core missions is to provide funding for academic endeavors, including student scholarships and faculty grants. We provide this funding by hosting and participating in several annual events such as Cares Day and Hats & High Tea in the spring, a Golf Tournament in June and the Mathews Leadership Forum in October. Your sponsorship and participation in these events help us increase the scholarships and grants we can provide to Cal Lutheran students and faculty. You can also support us by making a donation to our online store.
Community Leaders Association also focuses on raising awareness and visibility of Cal Lutheran through networking opportunities by building relationships with community leaders. Our Mathews Leadership Forum in the fall of each year introduces faculty and students to numerous community and business leaders, and provides an opportunity to forge relationships between the University and the community. On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I invite you to join us at a CLA event or Board meeting and learn about the great things we can accomplish.
Best Regards,
Crystal Evans '12, CLA President
