Do know the elements of a strong nonprofit marketing plan? How can you build such a plan that engages your constituents and meets your organization’s goals?

Marketing plays an important part in nonprofits and their success. In addition to promoting your organization, it can raise awareness of your cause and attract individual and corporate donors, volunteers, and potential staff and board members.

Stephanie Dufner

With 20 years of experience in Communications and Marketing, Stephanie has expertise in internal and external communications, web writing, media relations, publications, and social media. She currently serves as a consultant with California State University Channel Islands and California Lutheran University and writes content for the nonprofit Soroptimist International Sedro-Woolley (Wash.).

From 2017-2021, she worked with St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Madeira Public Relations, collaborating with local and national nonprofits, associations, and businesses increasing their digital, print, and broadcast presence. Prior to joining Madeira, she served as Communications Manager at the national office of The ALS Association, where she managed the association’s internal communications and social media accounts. She also coordinated media interviews between senior staff and subject matter experts to promote the organization’s research, care services, and advocacy programs.

Stephanie holds a master’s degree in communication and leadership studies from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. She lives in Moorpark with her family and volunteers with All for Love Animal Rescue and Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) and enjoys walking with her dogs, cooking, and exploring cuisine around Southern California.
