About this event

Good communication is central to every successful organization and can make or break the effectiveness of your team. Whether face to face or online, with coworkers or funders, board members or family members, delivering clear, concise, engaging communication helps to create a cohesive team. This interactive workshop will help you become a more effective communicator, problem-solver and trusted, focused leader. 

The goals of the program include to:

  • Understand your personal communication style and how it influences good communication
  • Learn and practice a variety of techniques that lead to positive communication
  • Create a personal plan to improve your communication

Organizations are encouraged to bring multiple team members to enable cross-team work during the session.

Gloria Miele

Gloria M. Miele, Ph.D., is a leadership development and executive coach, trainer, consultant and speaker who has been helping people reach their goals for over 25 years. Her mission is to inspire leaders and their teams to increase engagement, emotional intelligence and success through strengths-based coaching and training programs. 

Gloria has trained thousands of professionals in the US and abroad. She has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and was on the Columbia University faculty for 20 years. Since 2017, she has been Program Director on statewide health care education and leadership development initiatives at UCLA Health (ideas shared are her own).  She received her coaching certification from the College of Executive Coaching. She is widely published in academic journals, books and online. Select clients include StoryCorps, Girl Scouts, Women’s Economic Ventures, New York University, the National Institutes of Health, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Gloria is also committed to causes that support local business, education, and the empowerment of women and girls. She recently completed 4 years as the President of American Association of University Women’s Camarillo Branch and served for many years on the board of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce.
