2019-2020 Veteran Events
DECEMBER 17, 2019:
The Veterans Club hosted a Christmas brunch party near the end of the semester for all California Lutheran University students. This event included party games, gifts, and amazing free food! It was so awesome, even Santa himself stopped by!
This event also included a wonderful Toys for Tots drive that gave tons of gifts to children associated with California Lutheran University students and faculty.
This was a wonderful way to cap off an exciting year for California Lutheran University and the Veterans Resource Office!

NOVEMBER 23, 2019:
The Veterans Club hosted a clean-up event for the beaches of Ventura. Several members of the club and several faculty participated to help make our local beaches clean!
It is pivotal that we keep our oceans clean as can be. This helps keep very critical ecosystems alive. Not only will this benefit us now, but this will benefit several of our next generations and will ultimately make the world a better place!

NOVEMBER 11, 2019:
Our office hosted a Veterans Day Celebration event that honored the great people who have servered and are serving in the armed forces. We had great guest speakers from California Lutheran University President Christopher Kimball to Rear Admiral Eugene Fussell.
We also got free grilled cheeses and free kettle corn for those who attended the event. It was an absolute blast and an honor to celebrate the service of our military service members!

OCTOBER 18, 2019:
Our newly created Veterans Club hosted their debut event; a barbecue cookout! The event lasted three hours and saw plenty of Cal Lutheran staff and students come out to support the new club!
This club will be extremely important to the service of our veterans at CLU. If you wish to join the club, please don't be afraid to contact the Club President, Damon Marin, at marin@CalLutheran.edu!

OCTOBER 16, 2019:
On October 16, several of our office and club members participated in the honoring and remembrance of one of our students, Justin Meek, who was tragically killed in the Borderline shooting that happened in 2018. Justin made a great difference in the lives of many and still does today. His positive impact on those he interacted with will never be forgotten.

SEPTEMBER 17, 2019:
We celebrated the 232nd anniversary of the United States Constitution. At this event, we educated CLU students about the importance of the Constitution and its integral role in protecting the rights of American citizens.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2019:
We remembered and honored those who died and served on the tragic day of September 11th, 2001. The event ran for two hours and saw many CLU faculty and students come by to honor the fallen.
