Festival of Scholars Community Scholars for Black Lives Fellowship Program Presentations

Established in 2020 in response to a challenge from North Central University in Minnesota to create memorial scholarships in George Floyd’s name, this program empowers students to develop projects that strengthen and uplift the Black community. With the Amgen Foundation as its major funder, the program provides students with scholarships, mentorship, and community partnerships to support their work toward social justice.
This event will showcase presentations from the Fall 2024 cohort—the fifth group of students to participate in the program. Each presentation reflects months of dedicated research and community engagement, addressing issues that matter to the Black community and beyond.
Attendees will hear directly from these passionate student scholars about their projects, the challenges they’ve tackled, and the impact they aim to create. This is a unique opportunity to learn how student-led initiatives can drive meaningful change and to celebrate the next generation of leaders working toward a more just and equitable society.
This event is part of the Student Research series.
