  • Nathan Carlson – grant from the Government of Italy to collaborate with the University of Messina to investigate cardinality bounds on topological spaces in set-theoretic topology.
  • Samuel Claussen – grant from the Southeastern Medieval Association to research violence, religion, and chivalry in medieval Castile.
  • Brian Collins – grant from PLATO to support the SoCal Philosophy Institute for local high school students in the summer.
  • Jamshid Damooei – contract from the Ventura County Community Foundation to produce the State of the Region Report.
  • Matthew Fienup and Dan Hamilton – contracts from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to prepare the 15 Metro-Area Latino GDP Report; from the Latino Donor Collaborative to produce the 2022 U.S. Latino GDP Report; and from the Southern California Association of Governments for on-call regional economic analysis and to produce the 2021 Ventura County Economic Outlook Report.
  • Megan Fung – grant from the G.A. Foster Legacy Foundation to fund ongoing maintenance of the Sustainable Edible Education (SEEd) Garden and educational events for the community.
  • Tim Hengst – grant from TO Arts for the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company.
  • Rick Holigrocki – two grants from the City of Thousands Oaks to offset costs of counseling services for residents of Thousand Oaks.
  • Dena Jenson – grant from Amgen Foundation for the Board Equity in Governance Initiative housed at the Center for Nonprofit Leadershp.
  • Cindy Lewis – grant from Bank of America Charitable Trust for the 4ACause program.
  • Cynthia Moe-Lobeda – two grants from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for the Center for Climate, Justice, and Faith, including development of a Spanish-language certificate.
  • Adina Nack and Colleen Windham-Hughes – grant from Kaiser Permanente to launch a Public Health minor.
  • David Nelson – grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation to fund the 2021-22 Lyceum series titled “Contagion.”
  • Silvia Neves – grant from Amgen Foundation for Project ASCENSO to provide fellowships to students studying social justice issues impacting Latinx students, families and communities.
  • Mary Oksala – grant from the National Science Foundation to fund her research titled “New Models of Stellar Evolution.”
  • Edlyn Pena – grant from Ability Central to create and implement a training program for communication partners who work for, and with, students who use augmentative and alternative communication in educational settings.
  • Moses Penumaka – grant from Vesper Society for the Theological Education for Emerging Ministries program.
  • Rachel Schmid – grants from California Humanities to digitize Cal Lutheran’s permanent collections; and from the Foundation for Advancement in Conservation to assess the collections and facilities of Cal Lutheran’s two galleries.
  • Aditi Sengupta – grant from the National Science Foundation to fund her research titled “Growing a New Science of Landscape Terraformation.”
  • Temo Solorio – grant from the U.S. Department of Education for the Talent Search program for 2021-2026.
  • Anita Stone – grant from the National Science Foundation to fund her research titled “Signals of Genetic Quality and Mate Choice.”
  • Leslie Veen – grant from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church to assist seminarians at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary with funds for mental health services.
  • Lisa Wolfe and Ryan Sharma – contract from Ventura County Behavioral Health for Cal Lutheran’s Community Counseling Services to provide counselors to take part in the Mentored Internship Program.
  • Colleen Windham-Hughes and Lorri Santamaria – grant from Vesper Society to launch the Indigenous Knowledge Project.
