Technology Fee $70 per term
Wellness Fee $50 per term

One-time or conditional fees

Graduate and Professionals Student Council activity fee $30, one-time fee applies to all new graduate students
Audit fee One half the tuition listed above
Late registration fee $60, for registration submitted after the add/drop deadline
Late transaction fee $55, for employer reimbursement applications received after the second week of the semester

First thing’s first: file your FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the federal financial aid application that must be completed by anyone seeking federal or state financial assistance from an educational institution in the U.S. Our FAFSA school code is 001133. This form must be submitted each academic year.

Scholarships and grants

Graduate Academic Scholarship

Graduate Academic Scholarships are available to graduate and credential students based on financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA or CADAA, provided they have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. This competitive scholarship may award up to $2,500 per academic year, dependent on full or part-time enrollment status and number of terms attending.

This scholarship application is open:

  • July through August for ALL incoming and continuing students for the upcoming academic year
  • January through February for NEWLY admitted spring term students only

Russell & Linda Young Scholarship (MBA, MSIT)

The Russell and Linda Young Graduate Scholarship is an annual award provided to outstanding applicants to the MBA or MSIT programs. Eligible applicants must complete the general graduate scholarship application, submit a letter of motivation and be admitted before being considered for this scholarship. Applicants must also have a minimum 3.50 upper division undergraduate GPA. The scholarships will be awarded in the fall with four students receiving $2,500 each.

Local Organization Discount

Cal Lutheran has partnered with local organizations to offer their employees a $100 per credit discount on any of our graduate and professional programs (future terms only).

Community Scholars for Black Lives

Cal Lutheran established the Community Scholars for Black Lives program to empower students to work in tandem with community leaders and create conditions for Black lives to flourish. In addition to the $5,000 scholarship, recipients benefit from mentorship, conference travel funds and a project budget.

Congregational Partners in Education (CPE) Award

This award allows congregations of any faith to assist outstanding students who have demonstrated a commitment to the life and work of their place of worship. The University will match monies received from our partner congregations in support of a student attending Cal Lutheran full-time, up to $2,500 per academic year. This award may be renewed each year, up to three times, after the first year.

Federal and private loans

Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans

Eligibility for the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan is determined by the FAFSA and is not need-based. Students must be enrolled at least half time (three credits or more per term) to receive a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Eligibility will be determined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Alternative/Private Loans

Students should always utilize any awarded Federal Direct Loans prior to seeking an alternative loan. Interest rates on alternative loans are often much higher than the Federal Direct Loan rates. Eligibility is determined by the lender. Alternative/private educational loans may only be taken out for up to the cost of attendance (less any financial aid received) as defined by the Office of Financial Aid.

Veterans Benefits

Yellow Ribbon Program

Cal Lutheran is a Yellow Ribbon University. Students who may be eligible for veteran’s benefits should contact their local Veterans Affairs Office or contact Cal Lutheran’s Office of Veteran Resources for specific information.
