Students connected with key figures from LA Phil and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, exploring the synergy between music and culture. They also visited Bank of America and Deloitte to discuss innovative strategies in their industry. This experience highlighted the vibrant connections between arts and business in the city.

Darren Kettle
CEO, Metrolink
Darren Kettle is Chief Executive Officer of Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail service that provides a safe, easy, affordable, and stress-free alternative to car travel for the more than 18 million residents of the six-county mega-region. He became the Metrolink CEO in September 2021. Kettle has more than 30 years of experience with local and regional government agencies. Before joining Metrolink, Kettle was the Executive Director of the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) for 14 years. Previously, Kettle was with the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) from 2000 through 2007. Early in his SANBAG tenure, Kettle was Director of Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs for both SANBAG and the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC). Kettle has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Public Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. Darren is a member of the Advisory Council for the Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) at California Lutheran University’s School of Management.
Glenn Briffa
Chief Financial Officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra
Glenn Briffa is Chief Financial Officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. He previously served as CFO of Viacom’s Music Group, (RED) and Medialink. As a CFO, Briffa began his career at Viacom where he spent 18 years in a variety of domestic and international roles overseeing multiple cable channels, websites and consumer product lines. He then joined (RED), founded by U2’s Bono, helping it accelerate its mission which to date has raised more than $700 million for the U.N. Global Fund. After stints with leading event marketing firms, he joined strategic consultancy firm Medialink during a period of rapid growth and led the company through a $200 million strategic sale, including due diligence and enterprise value negotiations. Briffa currently serves on the advisory board of Project Healthy Minds, a leading mental health nonprofit with resources for young adults. Briffa earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics at New York University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Pace University.
Raul Anaya
President, Business Banking President, Greater Los Angeles
Raul A. Anaya is president and co-head of Business Banking, one of Bank of America’s eight lines of business, and is a member of the company’s executive management team.
In this role, Raul, along with co-head Sharon Miller, leads a nationwide team that serves 11 million business owner clients and more than 3.4 million start-up to mid-sized businesses with annual revenues up to $50 million, including one out of every three small businesses in the country.
Under their leadership, Bank of America is consistently ranked as the #1 small business
lender according to the FDIC, has been recognized as the "Best Bank in the U.S. for
Small and Medium Enterprises" by Global Finance magazine, and has received the "Outstanding
Customer Service Experience" award from J.D. Power for 14 consecutive years.
In addition to his responsibilities as president of Business Banking, Raul serves as president of Bank of America for Greater Los Angeles, leading integration of Bank of America’s business lines to ensure delivery of the bank’s global financial services to individuals and businesses locally. He also oversees the bank’s local corporate and social responsibility activities, including philanthropic giving, community development lending and investing, environmental initiatives, diversity efforts, arts and culture projects, and employee volunteerism for the 6,000 employees who work in the Greater Los Angeles region.
Raul also leads Bank of America's enterprise Hispanic-Latino business strategy, with a goal of growing the bank's leading market share position serving the U.S. Hispanic-Latino population. In addition, he advises Bank of America's Hispanic-Latino Executive Council, which consists of the bank's 300 most senior Hispanic-Latino bank executives in the U.S. Raul is also a member of Bank of America’s Global Diversity & Inclusion Council, which drives diversity initiatives across the company.
Active in the community, Anaya serves on the boards of the Los Angeles Area Chamber
of Commerce (past Chair), the AltaMed Health Services Foundation (past Chair), UCLA
Mattel Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, and the Smithsonian’s
National Museum of the American Latino in Washington D.C. Anaya is also a member of
the Angeleno chapter of YPO Gold.
Anaya joined Bank of America in Houston in 1989.
Trent Brown
Accounting & Reporting Advisory Leader, Deloitte
Trent is an Audit & Assurance partner with Deloitte & Touche LLP, based in the Los Angeles office, leading growth in the Consumer industry. He has extensive experience in public accounting with a focus on emerging growth companies, SEC filers and IPOs. His clients have included large, multinational public companies as well as smaller technology companies. His experience serving clients with complex technical accounting issues has given him valuable insight into issue identification and resolution. Throughout his career, Trent has provided services in connection with many equity/debt public and private offerings and he has been involved in helping to resolve many accounting and SEC compliance issues. He serves as a quality review partner on several of Deloitte’s public and private clients. He also serves as an instructor for Deloitte technical training courses. Trent holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
