Biography:
Ken Steele is a dedicated university instructor and broadcast and digital marketing partner with extensive experience bridging industry expertise and academia. With a dynamic and culturally responsive teaching approach, Steele specializes in preparing students to navigate real-world communication challenges in business, sports management, and strategic communication.
With a background spanning professional sports sponsorship, media, and corporate communication, Steele has successfully taught courses in organizational communication, strategic communication campaigns, negotiation, and public speaking. His expertise includes consumer behavior, sports fan engagement, conflict management, and persuasive communication strategies.
In addition to teaching, Steele brings decades of experience in sports marketing, broadcast media, and digital advertising. He has held key roles in professional sports sponsorships, digital marketing, and experiential brand activations, working with major media organizations, including ABC, ESPN, and MLB-affiliated networks as well as directly for the MLB.
Steele is a TEDx speaker and author of a peer-reviewed white paper on modern sales strategies. His professional accomplishments include award-winning media campaigns, voice-over work for major sports broadcasts, brands and animation, and top sales performance in the competitive sports sponsorship and media industry.
Holding an M.S. in Communication from Purdue University and a B.A. in Communication & Media Studies from the University of Massachusetts Global, Steele is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Education, Leadership & Innovation at Purdue University Global.
Ken Steele and his wife, Adrienne have two adult children. Ken is committed to fostering an inclusive, engaging, and innovative learning environment for the world they live, equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in today's evolving media and communication landscape.
