About

I grew up in Ventura, California, and am a product of the Ventura Unified School District. After majoring in music at UC Santa Barbara, I changed my focus to studying child development and earned my bachelor's degree from CSUN. I completed the Teacher Preparation Program at CLU in 2001 and began teaching elementary school in August 2001 for the Simi Valley Unified School District. Currently, I am beginning my 24th year as an educator for SVUSD. My roles have included teaching 3rd-6th grades, Teacher on Special Assignment for Induction, Elementary School Principal, and Professional Learning Coach. I have also worked 7 years for Educator Support and Effectiveness at the Ventura County Office of Education training mentor teachers, assisting newer teachers in clearing their credentials through induction, and providing professional development. My passion is teaching and supporting teachers.
