Engaging the English Learner in ELD

Unpacking and Implementing California's English Language Development Standards

This two-day ELD institute will provide K-5 teachers, EL personnel, and administrators with an understanding of the ELD Standards in relation to the ELA/ELD Framework and Common Core State Standards and with strategies for scaffolding  English learner success. Participants will receive tools to plan English learner instruction across content areas. 

Teachers will walk away with research-based strategies aligned with Common Core State Standards to increase student engagement, access, and achievement.

• Deepen your understanding of the California ELD standards, the California ELA/ELD Framework and their alignment with the Common Core, including practical classroom application
• Experience scaffolding techniques for English learner instruction across all content areas
• Walk away with research-based strategies aligned with CCSS to increase student engagement, access, and achievement
