The Health Inequalities that 3rd age Latinx face in Ventura County

Latinx population makes up 44.5% of Ventura County which all at one point will reach if not already the 3rd age (65 years or older). With the Latinx population growing exponentially, it is important to highlight all the inequalities they face and the reasons why the healthcare systems continue to fail them.

About Alejandro
Double Major B.A. Criminal Justice and Criminology & Spanish
Alejandro Loza is a sophomore double major at Cal Lutheran University. His goal is to attend Law School. Alejandro is a young leader devoted to helping the Ventura County community. In addition to his studies he worked for Ventura County’s Area Agency on Aging and as a student worker. Alejandro believes that advocating for the Latino population of Ventura County is critical because of our county’s Hispanic history. He believes it is important to highlight contributions and inequalities the Hispanic community face daily. His fellowship with ASCENSO continues to explore issues of the aging hispanic community and ways to address them.
