Cal Lutheran Choir and Cielo (formerly Women's Chorale)

Cal Lutheran Choir

Cal Lutheran Choir (MUS 180/380) is a mixed voice SATB choir with a membership of approximately 40 singers. Although the membership of the group will be primarily juniors and seniors, first year students and sophomores of superior musical ability will be considered.

Generally, first year and sophomore sopranos and altos accepted into membership will also be required to sing in the WOMEN'S CHORALE.

Attendance is expected at all rehearsals and performances. Performance dates will be announced at the beginning of each semester. Membership in the choir is for the entire school year.

Rehearsal schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 4:00-5:15 PM in Overton Hall

Cielo (Formerly Women's Chorale)

Women's Chorale (MUS 150/350) is an ensemble comprised primarily of first year and sophomore sopranos and altos. In most cases, a one or two year membership in this ensemble will give the singer special consideration for membership in the Cal Lutheran Choir. Attendance is expected at all rehearsals and performances. Performance dates will be announced at the beginning of each semester.

Rehearsal schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 1:00-1:50 PM in Overton Hall

Fall 2022 auditions will be held from Monday, Aug 29 to Thursday, Sept 1. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, September 6.

While you are not required to prepare anything in advance, those seeking membership in the Cal Lutheran Choir are strongly encouraged to do so. Pick a piece you know well and feel confident singing. An accompanist will be provide, so bring a copy of your music.
