About this event

This workshop session focuses on designing and delivering engaging and effective presentations. With a workshop format and role playing of public speaking tips and techniques, attendees will leave better prepared to weave compelling stories informed by their evaluation and impact outcomes into their presentations to various important organizational stakeholders. Perfect for the folks who default to wordy Powerpoint slides, this session will help attendees speak and present from the heart.

Kim Maxwell

Kim Maxwell is a producer, director, actress and teacher. She is co-founder of the Ojai Playwrights Conference where she continues to serve on the board and as director of its youth program. Kim is also co-founder and served eleven years as co-artistic director of Theater 150.

An arts advocate and community activist, Kim was recognized by the City of Ojai with a Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award in 2013. Later that same year, she realized her long-time dream with the grand opening of Kim Maxwell Studio -- a beautifully outfitted home for the stories of the beautifully talented people of Ventura County. On March 4th, 2017, Kim and her storytelling compatriots launched The Townies Podcast to share those stories with the rest of the world.

Gloria Miele

Gloria M. Miele, Ph.D., is a leadership development and executive coach, trainer, consultant and speaker who has been helping people reach their goals for over 25 years. Her mission is to inspire leaders and their teams to increase engagement, emotional intelligence and success through strengths-based coaching and training programs. 

Gloria has trained thousands of professionals in the US and abroad. She has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and was on the Columbia University faculty for 20 years. Since 2017, she has been Program Director on statewide health care education and leadership development initiatives at UCLA Health (ideas shared are her own).  She received her coaching certification from the College of Executive Coaching. She is widely published in academic journals, books and online. Select clients include StoryCorps, Girl Scouts, Women’s Economic Ventures, New York University, the National Institutes of Health, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.

Gloria is also committed to causes that support local business, education, and the empowerment of women and girls. She recently completed 4 years as the President of American Association of University Women’s Camarillo Branch and served for many years on the board of the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce.
