The great grandparents in our family never went to college. The grandparents never went to college. The parents never went to college, but Karina is the first generation to break that cycle of getting a higher education and wonderful internship in Washington DC with Cal. Lutheran ..that led to her professional life, unlike any of her ancestors!!.. we are SO grateful to California Lutheran University. Our family was not in the financial position to even think a dream like this could happen, but we applied for scholarship, and she received financial aid and merit award. It took a few years for us to all catch-up financially from the remaining balance that we did pay ourselves . But with that in mind, our daughter, Karina has an incredible professional career with an outstanding company in Washington DC and we tell everyone we know how grateful we are to California Lutheran University, and to never stop believing in the dream of higher education.!!!! we sent money to your annual fund for the first time to show our gratitude!!!!.. always and forever ..Thank you so much Joanne, Mario, and Karina Hernandez
