Learning More about Science with FAB
Submitted by Jan Bender
I moved to Camarillo in 2020 and learned about the Fifty and Better program during the pandemic from a friend of mine. I am generally interested in art and music, but I also want to learn more about various science topics.
I found it very fascinating to learn from Dr. Grady Hanrahan about the chemical and physical process of global warming from a scientific perspective without the politics. All of the classes I have taken have been with outstanding presenters who really know their subjects, and it makes me eager to return for more! The classes and topics are always varied, and there is always something of interest to take.
My most stunning memory is a lecture I attended with FAB about the James Webb Space Telescope. I really enjoyed seeing the animation of how the telescope unfolded itself once it arrived at its destination – it was truly awesome!
