I have encountered some of my most brilliant students—with the most interesting and profound questions about the world and our place in it—in my Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals classes. One of my favorite things about teaching in the Professionals program is seeing students actively engaged in their learning while balancing the many demands of midlife. As the mother of a spirited 6-year-old, I know very well how difficult it is to balance school and work with the needs of my family. It makes me happy to help my students to simultaneously fulfill their callings as parents, workers, and students, just as I am striving to do in my own life.
