I’m new to the Board of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Company. My presence on the Board is a bit of an anomaly. I don’t know that much about Shakespeare or theater.
I study innovation and entrepreneurship. Now that I’ve been through a Kingsmen season, I completely understand why I was asked to join the Board. William Shakespeare has rocketed to the top of my list of innovators who have influenced modern society.
You can find quotes from his plays just about everywhere, and it is remarkable that his works are still being performed around the world and in Hollywood. As for entrepreneurship, you will not find a more dedicated bunch of entrepreneurs than the folks who run the Kingsmen, driven by their love of the Shakespeare and passion for sharing his brilliance with the community and world.
The Kingsmen has provided internships for generations of students who have gone on to their own successes. This is a program that is worth supporting!
