Following my older brother’s footsteps, I applied to CLU and now that I am a month from graduation, I can say I found my own path and have enjoyed every single journey during my 4 years.
Having many stories and moments that come to mind from my time at CLU, I will only share a few that reflect part of my experience at CLU. I had an opportunity to run XC and Track for 2 years (a proud Kingsmen), while also being part of the Resident Assistant community for 3 years. As a student RA, every semester has been exciting, challenging and rewarding. I am confident that the Residents Life experience has helped me acquire learning opportunities that will accompany me the rest of my life. During my time as an RA, I have successfully facilitated roommate mediations, created impactful programs, helped respond during tragedies and emergencies, however, the work I am most proud of is being a friend and mentor to my residents. In addition, for the past 3 years, I was the Virtual Entertainment Club President and I have also worked as a Departmental Assistant for CLU’s Multimedia program. I was put in charge of CLU’s VR lab and have worked to revitalize its virtual entertainment program. I have brought students in, taught them to use the equipment, and built a big enough team to begin game development.
I truly enjoy being an active student at CLU. Being a part of the Cal Lutheran community has absolutely helped me improved life skills that will help me impact my future in a meaningful way.
