“The main reason I decided to study abroad was to build professional relationships and expand my networking to help build my career. I also wanted to see what life would look like outside of California and visit the East Coast for the first time. This program has given me the opportunity to be a full-time intern for two non-profit organizations where I have been able to work with people from all over the world. I am also taking two online courses with LCWS professors who have challenged me both academically and professionally. Due to this program, I have been able to connect with attorneys and government officials who have provided me with career advice. This experience has allowed me to make new friends, explore the beautiful city, and build long-lasting skills such as time management.
My experience abroad has been different than other years due to COVID-19, but LCWS and Cal Lu’s study abroad program works best to make sure students are safe and at the same time getting the full experience. I am incredibly grateful for my time in Washington, D.C. and I strongly encourage any student to take the opportunity and see how much studying abroad can change one’s perspective of life!”
