I grew up in the Conejo Valley. In 1985 I attended CLU when it was still California Lutheran College right after high school. After three semesters I was foolish enough to think I did not need a college education and pursued my career on the stage. Fast-forward 20 years later. My daughter was in elementary school and started questioning where my life journey was headed. I had a ‘good enough’ job but realized it wasn’t a career I was passionate about. CLU always felt like a second home to me so I moved back to the area and made the decision to finish my bachelors degree through the Bachelor’s Degree for Professionals (then known as the ADEP Program). My instincts were right – I felt like I was ‘home’ again, being embraced by this wonderful community. I started employment with the university in 2007 and finished my BA degree in 2009. Why stop there? I then continued my education and earned a Masters of Science in Counseling and Guidance degree in 2014. I finally found my Dream Career working with college students and supporting their success. I have been working at CLU for over 13 years and am now the Assistant Registrar for Academic Services and Compliance. And in a full-circle moment: my daughter will begin her CLU freshmen year in the fall – at a place that has become a second home to her too! I feel so blessed and grateful to be a part of this beautiful community, my chosen family!
