Our family arrived on campus September of 1963 when my father became the 2nd president of California Lutheran College. As a student from 1963-71 I witnessed the turbulent 60’s, participated in the peace march of 1968, and as an alumni rejoiced when the new college became a university and contributed time and treasure during the campaigns of KCLU and the North Campus. I have been honored to serve my alma mater through recessions, community tragedies and our current pandemic. Throughout its history, I have seen each president bring the right leadership at the right time. Today I salute President Kimball as our longest serving president who enriched our campus and community relationship, brought continued academic excellence and growth, expressed empathy for students during hard times and strengthened our mission of faith and service within the global community. The Cal Lutheran family is our community’s hero!
