Cal Lutheran’s Community Service Center Intern Team
Submitted by Madeline Liberti
The Community Service Center team was looking for ways to bring our community together through service during this difficult time of physical distancing. After much discussion and research, the team decided what a better way to bring us together than through storytelling! We decided to join the global #SAVEWITHSTORIES movement and launch our own campaign to bring stories to children all over the world and raise money that would go towards the national No Kid Hungry organization and our local Ventura County Food Share food bank.
Throughout the week of May 4th, we are encouraging the Cal Lutheran Community in joining us to record and upload a video reading a children’s story to IGTV using the #SAVEWITHSTORIES hashtag and tagging @clustudentlife. Children all over can access these stories from their own homes and share in our community effort.
For each story our community posts, the CSC will donate $2 to No Kid Hungry and $2 to Ventura County Food Share. Our goal is to log 250 stories to raise a total of $1000! Shout out to Josh, Abby, Sofia, and Melissa for this great work!
