Some of my early memories of PLTS were about twenty years ago during my days working on staff at a nearby center. Errands occasionally took me to various offices of PLTS, and I noticed how cheerful and friendly the staff were. One day I was asked to attend a meeting of about nine local seminary presidents at PLTS, and to record notes as the secretary. The meeting was in the winter, in December. The issues discussed called for the best thinking and exploration. Several critical decisions were made, and there was a friendly yet serious tone throughout. As we completed our closing prayer, PLTS President Lull, a brilliant theologian, asked if we might like to sing. He sat at the grand piano in the room, smiled, and played “Silent Night.”
