Presentation of the Draft Social Statement on Civic Life and Faith
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is developing a social statement on civic life and faith, the relationship of church and state, and related matters, as called for in 2019. Speakers from the university community and the Lutheran Office of Public Policy in Sacramento will introduce the draft social statement, then invite feedback and public comment. The task force encourages everyone to study and share their feedback on a draft version of the social statement, especially the first 8 pages.
The featured speakers will include:
- Regina Q. Banks, JD, Lutheran Office of Public Policy
- Haco Hoang, PhD, political science
- Vic Thasiah, PhD, religion
- Khrystyne Wilson, PhD and JD, religion
The event is free and open to the public. To attend the event virtually, use this Zoom link. For more information, contact the Rev. Dr. Colleen Windham-Hughes at 805-493-3330 or windhamh@callutheran.edu.
