Producing Film and Television in a Time of Disruption

Join the webinar featuring Chris Lytton, president and chief operating officer of the Jim Henson Company, and Gerhard Apfelthaler, dean of the School of Management.

The Jim Henson Company has remained a leader and an iconic brand in family entertainment for over 60 years and is recognized as a top creator of television and film programming and as an innovator in puppetry and animatronics. The Company’s recent productions include: a reboot of the Henson classic Fraggle Rock, for Apple TV+, Guillermo Del Toro’s Academy Award and Golden Globe winner, Pinocchio, made for Netflix and The Portable Door, a film starring Christoph Waltz and Sam Neill where Lytton was an executive producer.

Based out of the Company’s headquarters on its historic Hollywood studio lot, Chris Lytton oversees the company’s day-to-day operations, including business affairs, distribution, human resources, creature workshops, studio facilities and consumer products. He also focuses on exploring new lines of business, raising capital, and joint ventures.

Prior to joining the Jim Henson Company, Lytton served as COO and General Counsel at Route One Entertainment, a busy independent film financier where he served as an executive producer on movies such as The Free State of Jones, starring Matthew McConaughey. Previously, he was COO of international sales agency, Exclusive Media’s, production group which produced numerous projects including the Ron Howard directed film, Rush, starring Chris Hemsworth and Skiptrace, starring Jackie Chan, where he was an executive producer.
