Social and Solidarity Economy — Lessons from Barcelona

MPPA Policy Talk

Social and Solidarity Economy — Lessons from Barcelona

In this talk, political strategist Eric Griego, PhD, will share his lessons about solidarity economy and what it means. Participants will learn practical approaches to addressing inequality and explore innovative, community-driven economic development strategies inspired by his experiences as a Fulbright Scholar in Barcelona.

At a time of increasing inequality in American society and structural imbalances in how we think about increasing resources, he will present ideas on a different vision of economic development policy, such as those embedded in Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE). Griego was a Fulbright Scholar in Barcelona last year, and he will share lessons learned and insights that could empower communities in the U.S.
