"Common Differences"

Senior Art Exhibit 2024

Common Differences is the 2024 senior art exhibit featuring works by Cal Lutheran art majors. The 11 artists showcased in this exhibit delve into diverse backgrounds, mediums and forms of identity expression. While each artist’s approach is unique, all the works collectively reflect a shared desire to create art rooted in common human experiences.

The body of work presented by the graduating senior class is centered on the exploration of identity through motifs such as religion, growth, personal storytelling, culture and mental health. Each artist employs the medium that resonates most with their individual identity.

Bella Abbatoye from Oxnard, Chloë Lauren Zebrack from Los Angeles and Kenzie Mac Gregor from Agoura Hills specialize in painting. Richard Stokes is a ceramicist from Fresno. Seven mixed-media artists use various mediums such as drawings, paintings, ceramics, colored pencils, digital art and photography: Aaron Oliver from Lawndale, Bryan Bugni from Tulare, Colin Clasen from Corona, Dylan Reinhart from Ventura, Emily Harms from Oregon, Madison Lewis from Los Angeles and Lily Ball, a native Guatemalan from Moorpark.

We stand out on our own, but we stand together in one show.
