SAFE ZONE ALLY TRAINING

FOR STUDENTS!!!!!!

BECOME A SAFE ZONE ALLY!!!

Across the U.S., SAFE ZONE trainings help university faculty and staff to be ALLIES for students who are members of under-represented groups.  An ALLY supports students who have negative experiences related to their identity (for more details, see “goals,” below).  At CLU we train STUDENTS to act as ALLIES, too.

Student-ALLIES complete a Full-day training and receive a sticker to place in a noticeable location (residence hall door, office door, backpack, Facebook Page, etc.) to indicate that they have been trained and are available to offer support to students confronting difficulties because of their cultural identity.

Training Date:  SATURDAY, February 7th

        (Breakfast  & Lunch  Included! ! ! )

Training Location: STUDENT COUNSELING SERVICES Bldg.

(3222 Luther Ave., next to the Health Services Bldg.)

The training is FREE, fun, and interactive.  It’s a great opportunity to learn from one another about how students might feel less supported at times, and how we can remedy or prevent that.

A couple of answers to FAQ’s:

  1. Sorry, but the whole day of training is required
  2. Conflicting time commitments are o.k. ONLY if the total lost time (over the entire training) is 30 minutes or less.

Space is limited, so

Reserve right away to save a place for yourself !
